Hecho a mano
The declaration "made by hand" — which, unlike "totalmente a mano", may include machine-assisted steps.
“Hecho a mano” literally means “made by hand” — yet the phrase is less strict than it sounds: it can also cover cigars on which machines do part of the work, such as forming the bunch, with often only the wrapper applied by hand. The stricter Cuban declaration is Totalmente a mano: entirely by hand, without mechanical assistance. Anyone who values pure handwork therefore reads the box declaration closely.
