Draw
The resistance with which smoke can be pulled through the cigar — neither a straw nor a blockage.
The draw arises in the air channels the torcedor creates when folding the filler into the bunch; good factories test the resistance on a draw machine before the wrapper is applied. Before lighting, the cold draw reveals it: if the cigar draws noticeably too tight, it is rolled too firmly or stored too damp. The cut also plays a part — the larger the opening at the head, the easier the draw.
