Shoulder
The curved transition zone between the cap at the head and the straight body of the cigar.
The shoulder marks the boundary for the cut: you cut just above it so that part of the cap’s curve remains. Cut too deep below the shoulder and the construction opens up — the wrapper unravels and the cigar literally falls apart. On figurados with a pointed head the shoulder is less pronounced; there the height of the cut determines how wide the draw opens.
