Medio Tiempo
The rare topmost leaf level — two small leaves above the ligero that grow on only some sun-grown plants.
Medio Tiempo is the name for the two topmost leaves that form above the ligero on only a portion of sun-grown tobacco plants — smaller, thicker and more powerful still. For a long time they went unsorted into the ligero harvest; only for the Cohiba Behike line, launched in 2010, did Cuba begin to pick, grade and age them separately. The heavy tobacco shows best in thick formats — the Behike vitolas carry ring gauges of 52 to 56.
