Ligada
The blend formula of a cigar — which tobaccos go into the filler, and in what proportion.
The ligada specifies how many leaves from which origin and priming position a cigar receives — for instance the ratio of mild Volado, aromatic Seco, and full-bodied Ligero in the filler. It is composed by the blender and strictly adhered to in the factory so that the same vitola tastes consistent year after year. In Cuban factories the ligada is among the most closely guarded trade secrets.
