Long filler
A cigar whose filler consists of whole, folded tobacco leaves — the standard in premium cigars.
In a long filler, the filler leaves run uncut through the entire cigar; the torcedor folds them so that air channels form to enable the draw. Whole leaves burn more slowly and coolly, carrying the blend evenly through all thirds. The counterpart is the mostly machine-made short filler with its cut tobacco pieces.
