Lancero

A long, very slender format of 192 millimetres at ring gauge 38 — listed in Cuba as Laguito No. 1.

The lancero was born in the 1960s at the Havana factory El Laguito alongside the Cohiba brand; the Cuban vitola is called Laguito No. 1 and measures 192 millimetres at ring gauge 38. At such a slender girth the wrapper shapes the flavour strongly — much as in the related panetela, with length as its defining characteristic; the format forgives no hurried puffing. Classically, the lancero carries a braided pigtail on its head.
