Chaveta
The torcedor’s crescent-shaped knife for trimming tobacco leaves.
The chaveta is the most important tool at the rolling table: a flat, crescent-shaped blade without a handle that sits flat in the palm. With it the torcedor trims the binder and wrapper, smooths leaves, and rolls the bunch across the board. Its form has remained virtually unchanged for generations — a piece of craft history that looks the same in every factory.
