CigarKings began as a thought experiment: Philipp Kugler conceived the brand during his communication design studies as a fictitious project — and then made it real. Founded in Munich in 2016, Kugler found a partner manufactory in Estelí, Nicaragua, and presented the first two lines at InterTabac 2018.
The Long Fillers are produced in the Entubado style, in which each filler leaf is individually rolled into a tube — a labour-intensive technique that keeps the draw open and separates the flavour layers cleanly; the finish is a triple-capped head. The filler comes from the Nicaraguan regions of Estelí and Jalapa, the wrapper from Ecuador.
The range is deliberately compact: the two core lines, Sun Grown and Maduro, are complemented by limited editions including Lanceros and special blends from the Jalapa valley. That a German brand has its cigars made in Nicaragua is no contradiction but a deliberate statement: design, brand management and quality standards from Munich, tobacco and craftsmanship from Estelí.
